Peer Education Coordinator and Trainer
Lindsay Montgomery joined the Center for Young Adult Addiction and Recovery staff
in February 2016 as the Peer Education Coordinator and Trainer. Lindsay became BACHUUS
certified in peer education and peer counseling in 2013, and MAPP certified in 2014.
Lindsay provides training to students to become peer educators, assists in the development
of peer education curriculum, coordinates CYAAR peer education for the university,
assists in Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) education, provides education and training
in administering naloxone, facilitates seminars, enters data from AOD research initiatives,
organizes community outreach for AOD education, and presents education and research
findings at national conferences.
Ms. Montgomery started as a student in Kennesaw State University’s Collegiate Recovery
Community in 2012, and her experience as a student in the program gives her a unique
perspective on collegiate recovery. In addition to her work for the Center for Young
Adult Addiction and Recovery, Lindsay also serves as member of the Kennesaw State
Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drugs (ATOD) Coalition, and a board member for the Association
of Recovery in Higher Education.
